Is There A Wait For A Referral Of A Baby? Adoption Partners is ready when you are to go forward. There is rarely a wait for a referral of a baby. Most parents are presented with several babies to choose from immediately upon confirming their interest. All babies are healthy and have had all HIV testing completed and the results are negative. Is There an Age or Marriage Requirement for Adopting? SINGLE PARENT ADOPTION; Guatemala does not limit adoptions to married parents. They understand that families are made up of all kinds of people with diverse backgrounds. The attorneys know that you will be excellent parents and have the support and encouragement of your family and friends. Adoption Partners is proud to work with a select group of attorneys who welcome you to be a part of their excellent adoption program. NO AGE LIMITS -- Adoption Partners works with parents of all ages. There is no age limit nor is there a requirement to have been married for a certain period of time. If you have questions or concerns about your specific situation, please do not hesitate to discuss it with one of our informative Adoption Counselors. We are here to work with you to ensure a smooth adoption process, regardless of what you may have heard from other Adoption Services. Can I Choose The Sex And Age Of My Baby? Yes, you can choose the sex and age of your baby! You can choose from a newborn baby, a toddler or a baby that has yet to be born. We work individually with each adoptive family to assist you in creating your family. We do not rush you into a decision or limit you to just one baby to choose from. We respect that this is a big decision and we are with you are every step of the way. Will My Baby Get Loving Care? Private foster mothers care for all of Adoption Partners babies. Each foster mother is baby will be in an environment of love and attention. Most foster mothers have 2 babies at a time so your baby will have someone their own age to play and grow with. Adoption Partners has met most of the foster mothers working for our attorneys. You will find that the foster mothers give unending attention, love and devotion to their babies. Latin American countries are very family oriented and care for each baby as if it were their own.
How Will I Know How My Baby Is Doing Day-To-Day? Your baby's foster mother will give us a letter telling about how they spend their days, their sleep patterns, what they are eating, how their disposition is and anything else you may want to know. We'll translate the letter and give you the original and the translated version. We will also return with a translated medical report by the INS doctor. How Can I Send Gifts To My Baby And The Foster Mother? Adoption Partners will hand deliver your pictures and gifts to your baby on our scheduled visits to Guatemala every 8 weeks. We will take pictures and videos of your little one enjoying the gifts.
What Type Of Medical Care And Check Ups Will My Baby Get? All medical care is by one of three INS approved doctors. Each month your baby will be given a thorough check up and a report will be issued. We will have the report translated and send the original and the translated version to you. How Can I Be Sure There Will Not Be Any Problems With Our Adoption? Adoption Partners works with 4 different attorneys each with impeccable reputations. Each one is connected to our office with email for prompt attention to any questions or update. You will be kept updated of the progress of your case as it moves through the courts. No question or concern is too minor for our team of coordinators to answer. In addition, one of our coordinators is in Guatemala every 8 weeks to meet with the attorneys. HELP! I Do Not Know Where To Start! Will Adoption Partners Help Me?? Adoption Partners has a complete, easy to use, Getting Started handbook to use when preparing your dossier. It contains contact numbers for local and state agencies, information on preparing for your homestudy, timelines and court procedures for you to use to follow the progress of your adoption and a list of helpful tips to help make the time go by faster! In addition, Adoption Partners provides you with pre-paid, pre-addressed Federal Express mailers to use when sending your documents to the Secretary of State, other Government Agencies and the Guatemala Consulate. We will not risk letting let your documents get lost or misplaced. Each mailer is tracked. We Are So Anxious! How Long Will The Adoption Take? Most adoptions are completed within 4-5 months. You will have preparations to make before your baby comes home so the time will go by quickly. I Would Like To Go To Guatemala But Have Not Traveled Much. Will Adoption Partners Help Me? If you would to travel to Guatemala to spend time with your baby you are always welcome to accompany Adoption Partners on any of our scheduled visits to Guatemala or travel on your own.. Guatemala is a beautiful country and the trip is very safe. We stay in an upscale Marriott in a safe, clean, friendly area. The staff speaks English and is very supportive of International adoptions. We can arrange for a guided tour of Antigua with an English-speaking guide that we have used on several occasions. It is a wonderful experience to return from visiting with your baby with hand made goods and woven textiles that demonstrate the culture of the Guatemalan people. What Do I Do Once The Adoption Is Final? When it is time for you to go to Guatemala to bring your baby home, Adoption Partners will assist you with a list of what to pack, gifts to take, what to expect every step of the way-from the time the plane lands, to getting to the hotel, meeting your baby, some Spanish words and phrases so you can share your appreciation and thoughts with the foster mother, touring around Guatemala City and Antigua, and returning to the airport. I Just Can not Leave Work Or My Family To Go To Guatemala. Will Adoption Partners Escort My Baby Home? If needed, AP can assist you with arranging for an escort to bring your baby home. Although we feel that you going to Guatemala is an important part of the process, we understand that there are circumstances that make travel impossible. We can have one of our contacts in Guatemala bring the baby to the US or we will arrange for one of our coordinators to bring your baby home.
